Flowers of Ravenna

The Flowers of Ravenna – “Ravenna Women’s Friendly City” is a project aimed at uniting the world of art with the world of volunteerism.

Linea Rosa, an association supporting the fight against violence against women that has been active in the area for many years, kicks off the initiative in 2013. Several local mosaicists, including Pixel Mosaics, participate by making mosaic flowers as a symbol of beauty, art and solidarity.

The flowers adorn the exterior of homes, stores and institutional venues in remembrance of women victims of violence and as a sign of welcome to all who visit Ravenna, a ‘women-friendly city.’ By buying a flower as a souvenir of the city of mosaics you can join the initiative, a portion of the proceeds will go to the Linea Rosa Anti-Violence Center.
