The 40 hours class is from Monday to Friday from 9 am to 1 pm and from 2 pm to 6 pm.
You will have the chance to learn the fundamental notions about the direct technique on the temporary binder (putty lime) and on final binder . You will also learn to manually cut the tesserae by using the hammer and the hardie, two tools from the mosaic tradition.
Natural materials such as marbles and glass smalti will be used during the class.
During class you will be making two mosaics to bring home with you: a copy of the roman mosaic approx. 30x30cm with direct on lime technique and a copy of the byzantine mosaic approx. 15x15cm using direct technique on concrete.
